God Is Doing a New Thing — Isaiah 43:19
1. Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open to Your Word, and spirits hungry for Your presence.
Today, we remember Your promise through the prophet Isaiah: “You are doing a new thing.” Not because of our plans, but because of Your faithfulness. Not because we deserve it, but because You are full of mercy and power.
Help us to see the sprouts of grace You are growing—even in our deserts. Give us childlike hearts to believe, and quiet spirits to listen.
May this time together be a place where old wounds are softened, and new faith takes root. We give You this hour, this study, and this family of faith.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
2. Suggested Hymn or Worship Song

3. Bible Reading
God Is Doing a New Thing — Isaiah 43:19
A House Church Bible Study for Families and Believers of All Ages
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”(Isaiah 43:19, NIV)
Have you ever looked at a dry field where nothing grows and thought, “Nothing good could ever happen here…”?
But then, after a soft rain and a few warm days, suddenly—a little flower appears.
God loves doing that—not just in nature, but in our lives too.
Whether you're a child learning about faith, or an adult facing a difficult season, this verse from Isaiah reminds us of one big truth:
God is making something new—even when we can’t see it yet.
What Does “New Thing” Mean in the Bible?
In the original Hebrew, the word “new” (חָדָשׁ - chadash) means something completely fresh, never seen before—not recycled, not reused, not just a repeat of the past.
It’s like God saying:
“I’m not just fixing your broken life—I’m planting a brand new seed of hope.”
And it’s not just someday. He says,
“Now it springs up!”
Even now—right now—God may already be growing something new inside your heart.
Children’s Version: “God's Secret Garden”:
Sometimes, it feels like everything around us is hard: School is confusing. Friends aren't kind. We feel like we’re in a dry, dusty place—like a desert.
But guess what?
God says:
“I will make a path in your desert. I will give you water where it feels dry.”
That means:
God will help you understand new things.
He will send people to love you when you feel lonely.
He might even plant a dream inside your heart—something special that only you can grow with Him.
So keep watching and listening. Something beautiful might already be sprouting!
Adults’ Devotional: “Do You Not Perceive It?”
To the weary believer:
Maybe you've tried and failed.
Maybe the church hurt you.
Maybe your dreams dried up years ago.
God is not asking you to create something new. He’s inviting you to notice what He is already growing.
This passage is not a motivational slogan for fundraising. It is a divine whisper to exiles and wanderers:
“I’m doing something fresh. Not a bigger plan—but a better promise. A path through what seemed impassable. A river where there was only dust.”
Reflection Questions (For Family or Group Study):
Can you think of a time when something good surprised you in a difficult season?
What does a “wilderness” look like in your life right now?
Do you believe God could be doing something new—even if you can’t see it yet?
How can we help each other notice the “sprouts” of God’s work?
Closing Thought:
You don’t have to chase what’s new. You just need to open your eyes, open your heart, and say:
“Lord, help me to see the new thing You are doing.”
Whether you're young or old, God’s promise is the same:
He is already at work. And it's more beautiful than you could imagine.
5. Closing Prayer:
Lord God, Thank You for reminding us that You are the One who makes all things new.
You carve paths through wildernesses we thought would never end.You bring water to places we thought were hopelessly dry.
As we leave this time of worship and study, help us to walk forward with eyes that see Your hand, with hearts that trust Your way, and with mouths that speak life into others who feel lost or dry.
May the seed of Your promise grow in each of us. Bless the young ones, bless the elders, and bless this house with Your peace.
In Jesus’ powerful and loving name, Amen.
